GINGER HIBISCUS TEA

I love herbal iced tea in the summertime- there is nothing more refreshing! This recipe is made with hibiscus, which is full of antioxidants and offers liver support. The ginger aids in digestion and the mint is a good source of vitamin A. Add some freshly squeezed orange juice for sweetness and a little vitamin C.

Ingredients

Makes 4 drinks

4 cups boiling water

5 hibiscus tea bags

1 teaspoon grated ginger

1 bunch of fresh mint

Juice of 1 orange

8 drops of liquid stevia (optional)

½ cup of sparkling mineral water (I love Gerolsteiner)

Directions

  • Pour the boiling water over the tea bags and let steep for 15 minutes. Let cool to room temperature.

  •

  • In a pitcher or large mason jar, combine the tea, ginger, mint and stevia, if using. Let it chill completely, preferably overnight.

  •

  • Stir in the mineral water and orange juice right before serving.

  •

  • Garnish with orange slices and mint.
